
Looking for a Purchasing Officer
Location: Braybrook, Richmond, Springvale or Thomastown
Reports to: : Purchasing Team Leader

Role purpose
Purchasing Officer is required as a competent and reliable individual who has the ability to handle large volume of transactions. This admin driven role works in a fast-paced team environment, preparing and processing purchase orders from local suppliers. Purchasing Officer will work towards deadlines and will coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers. This role should have exceptional communication still with a keen eye for detail.
Key responsibilities
- End-to-end management of Purchase Orders from placement to payment
- Establish new, and maintain/manage existing suppliers for goods and services
- Manage invoices to facilitate 'in full, on time' payment of Suppliers' invoices
- Maintenance of supplier Database Master Data
- Coordinating the purchasing function to ensure on time delivery and following up discrepancies.
- Ensure product costs are accurate and any supplier price increases are managed to reduce impact.
- Monitor and manage inward shipment and notify of any changes to key stake holders (Clients, CMs…)
- Form strong relationships with suppliers to ensure supply chain strength - product priority, payments terms etc.
- Monthly Management reporting related Purchasing
- Ensure all other purchasing administration is kept up to date.
- Work in line with procurement measures to achieve organisational results
- Actively participate in site meetings and other planned meetings or workshops and training
The above lists are not exhaustive and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of AVWA. Fulfil other duties as required by management and Purchasing Team Leader.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Accountancy, Finance, Commerce or relevant fields and evidence of ongoing professional and personal development.
- 1+ years' experience in Purchasing, E-commerce, or a related role.
- Knowledge and understanding of Purchase to Pay processes and online ordering systems.
- Experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain will be highly regarded.
- Good working knowledge of MYOB system for purchasing is a bonus.
- Competent with Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel competency and ability to learn new systems/programs
- Attention to detail and the willingness to raise and resolve issues.
- Able to priorities task and manage several projects and tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- A proactive and results driven approach
- Willingness to assist others.
- Bilingual in English and Vietnamese
