Mrs. Thanh-Kham Tran-Dang OAM is a founding member and dedicated volunteer of the Australian Vietnamese Women’s Association (AVWA). Serving as AVWA President in 1989 and from 2011 to 2022, she provided crucial leadership during key growth periods. From 1983 to 1986, she actively supported newly arrived refugees settling in Australia. She later worked as a Bilingual Officer for the Occupational Health and Safety Commission, advocating for safe working conditions for multicultural communities. Her tireless contributions were recognised with an Order of Australia Medal in 2021, the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2020, and Yarra City Council’s Outstanding Woman Award in 2011.
