The Australian Vietnamese Women’s Association (AVWA) has today announced the commencement of its newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Ngoc (Nicky) Chung.

Ngoc takes over from Cam Nguyen who has been in the role for almost 18 years, bringing the Association from its very humble beginnings to the extensive and successful service provider it is today. The AVWA provides aged care, NDIS, counselling, training and migrant services to the Vietnamese community.

Ngoc, who is also known as Nicky says, “I am delighted to join a team of such dedicated and talented individuals who provide wonderful services to the community.”

Ngoc is a passionate community member herself, a respite foster carer and President of her local Rotary Club.

Ngoc was born in Rach Gia, Vietnam. Her family fled the country after the war. She grew up in Perth where she studied psychology. She is now completing an MBA program with Melbourne Business School. She has extensive leadership experience in people and community.

The AVWA continues to be a significant contributor to improving the health and welfare of Vietnamese people, growing from strength to strength each year.
