AVWA’s Scholarship Program

At AVWA we have a mission to help people realize their full potential.

In 2024 AVWA are introducing a Scholarship Program that will help eligible community members meet their learning and career goals.

We have two $10,000 scholarships for students enrolled or enrolling in nursing, occupational therapy, mental health or related health and wellbeing disciplines in Australia.

Successful scholarship applicants will be paid incrementally after successful enrolment ($2000), completion of the first six months ($4000) and completion of the course ($4000). Funds may go towards tuition, books, equipment, accommodation, or any related learning expense. Students may be selected to undertake 6 weeks of paid vacation work in their final years of study or work placement with AVWA. Applicants can be in any year of study.

Preference will be given to AVWA members, employees, volunteers, clients, or their relatives, and applicants who can demonstrate their willingness and ability to overcome hardship.

The program is launched on International Women's Day on Friday 8 March 2024 and will be closed on Friday 19 April 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by email on Friday 17 May 2024.

All information submitted will be held in confidence and used solely for the purpose of scholarship administration.
