Playgroups Full-moon Festival 17.9.2024
The Full Moon Festival arrives yearly, and the "Chơi Mà Học" playgroups eagerly anticipate the celebration. This year, in addition to six groups from Melbourne's western suburbs, two groups from Fitzroy and North Richmond joined, bringing the number of participants beyond expectations.
This year's program was rich with activities such as light exercise, lion dancing, showcasing handmade lanterns by the children, moonlit dancing, magic performances, and a "Trung Thu lantern" parade. Everyone then enjoyed a lunch filled with authentic Vietnamese flavours.
The children and families were honoured to receive gifts from Ms Nicky Chung, CEO of the Australian Vietnamese Women's Association (AVWA), and Ms Maryanne Tadic, CEO of Australian Multicultural Community Services. They also welcomed esteemed guests like representatives from The Smith Family, one of the main sponsors of the four playgroups, the AVWA Training Department, and Ms. Preity from VICReturn.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff, volunteers, grandparents, parents, and children who contributed their time and effort in preparing for the festival, helping to educate and preserve Vietnamese traditions and culture in Australia.
